BRINCA Picnic – 2021

Dance, music, games, and lots of fun marked the 1st BRINCA Picnic in the Park, which took place on August 29, 2021, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, at Britannia Park in Ottawa.

The outdoor event brought together over 200 people and aimed to strengthen community bonds while promoting cultural enrichment with joy and entertainment for Brazilians living in Ottawa and Gatineau.

Following provincial health and safety protocols, participants were encouraged to bring individual snacks. Throughout the event, water, soda, coffee, and cookies were provided. At the end of the day, everyone enjoyed a delicious ice cream giveaway.

Some of the event’s highlights included:

  • A forró workshop by the "Fun-rro Avec Empathy" project
  • A mini volleyball tournament
  • Fun activities for children
  • A live samba performance featuring top-quality musicians

The event also had the honor of welcoming Chandra Arya, Member of Parliament, who paid tribute to the Brazil-Canada Community Association (BRINCA) for its dedication and commitment to the Brazilian community.

BRINCA thanks all participants, volunteers, and sponsors, including DuBrazil, Roseli Quarti, and Gabriela Fagundes Photography, for their generous support.
